Blending Leaf Types

Each tobacco variety has its own leaf character, aroma when cured, and growth traits.

Historically, different leaf types were combined after curing to achieve particular cured-leaf profiles — a subject of craft and trade rather than something we promote today.

We describe varieties by horticultural class (bright-leaf, burley, oriental, wrapper-leaf, and so on) to help you choose seeds for cultivation. Experimenting with proportions is a matter of personal interest for experienced growers researching curing history.

Note: We do not encourage tobacco consumption. Seeds are sold for horticultural and educational use only, where lawful.
